Born in Faisalabad.Initially studied in Divisional Public School, Lyallpur.Later on went to Cadet College Hasanabdal. Got distinction in matriculation and Intermediate .Got admission in King Edward Medical College, Lahore and awarded MBBS degree ..Joined DMG in 1984 after getting 11 th position in the country through CSS. Remained posted as Assistant commissioner, Deputy commissioner, DCO, Secretary in various government departments. Did masters in Political Science privately.

Main sports are golf and swimming.

Main hobbies are short story writing, column writing in National newspapers.reading books on current topics. biographies.

Other hobbies are man watching., bird watching, plantation
